MAXIMUM OF 6 PERSONS
Looking for lodgings like life used to be, before you had to share walls and BBQs with strangers? Before resorts expanded only to jam maximum people into minimum spaces? Samara’s historic Cabins 2 thru 7 takes you back to before… with your own cabin on the water, and space for you to relax and relive the joy and notstalgia of quiet time “at the lake,” just as you remember.
Built in the 1950s, Samara Point on Gull Lake remains one of the few, original resorts of it’s kind left in Minnesota. Structurally (and lovingly) maintained in the Samara tradition (to preserve but enhance), each half-log exterior cabin is bedecked with original 1950s knotty pine interiors. Meticulously-maintained, the six original cabins are spread across the shorefront (no, your view is not the back of another cabin, or of pavement or someone’s cars). Every Samara cabin gives you the best lake view because every Samara Point cabin on Gull Lake is truly just steps from the water’s edge.
The cabin floorplans remain original and true, with two handcrafted bedrooms (most guests say they offer the best sleep of their life), authentic bathroom (rated “deluxe” in those days, today promise to be a conversation piece), and what we call the pioneering vision in “open” kitchen design, blending the kitchen with dining and living areas, so all can enjoy conversation and the warm glow of the wood-burning fire. But the very best features… the large lakeside picture window, and a full lakeside screened-in porch– here you have an unmatched panoramic view of all kinds of wildlife, exceptional sunsets, and the beautiful, sparkling Gull Lake.
Enhancments made to these historic cottages include an abundance of handcrafted, one-of-a-kind, northwood comforts, plus the modern necessities to keep you connected. With so many personal touches, the minute you walk in you, you feel the cabin has always been yours, waiting for you to make more memories to it’s splended 60+ year history.
